Bioko island as the continental part, are in a tropical zone, with high malaria risk in 2 seasons, if you're planning a trip to center África, consulting your doctor for some extra drugs is a MUST!

Bioko as known is an island, everything is imported, and the country is an oil and gas exporter, which make the price little expensive, hotel rates average are between 60USD to 120USD, airbnb as well may be between 40USD to 70USD per night.

Street food, is not everywhere safe, contact our guides so they can recomend the best places to try local food, normal restaurants have an average rate between 8 to 12USD for one meal.

Carrying cash is a must, most of restaurants or services don't offer credit card options for payments.

USD exchange rates may vary between 550 and 590.

EUR exchange rate vary between 655 and 700.

Taxis inside the city of malabo costs 500XAF to 1000XAF.

Transfer from airport to hotels may vary between 1000XAF and 3000XAF.

Private taxis, as VERONAL (UBER like) is a little higher, 3000XAF inside malabo and 7000XAF.

Car rental is not cheap, prices vary between 110USD to 200USD per day.

Night walks in Malabo are safe, usually we recommend Hotel Bahia I as a hotel, in the center, prices are OK ( 100$ per night), you can have some walks to check some restaurants or drink a beer in a central bar, and they give some special diet options for allergic people.

Doing pictures to goverment basements are completely forbidden.

Drones need special permits before arriving to EG. Avoid having it in your baggages to avoid any problem with the police checkpoints in the airport.

Malabo is not only about hot weather! In some of our trips temperature may reach the 4°C! Consider having a jacket in your baggages!
